A year and a half went by great, then the first accident happened, I decided to fix it up and sell it. So I did, and put that money towards a 2003 Dakota R/T. After a few months I realized selling the bike was a big mistake, so I bought another one! It just happened to be another 2000 Yamaha R6! I picked up that bike and the guy I sold my first R6 to told me to get my ass to the track. I have him to thank for getting my ass out there. After 1 day at the track I was hooked, and because of that, it has turned out to be one of the most expensive hobbies I could think of. The things we do for an adrenaline rush!
Why Yamaha?
You ask why? I ask WHY NOT?
The Yamaha YZF-R6 is noted as one of the best "out of the box" race bikes. I love this bike, well it is my second R6, and it suits me well and I wouldn't ride anything else. With its sleek styling, decent stock suspension, 370 pounds with a nice tight 54" wheelbase for quick turn in, a nice tight riding position, a 15,500rpm redline, big 298mm front rotors to stop you on a dime, and endless spare parts available at the track, you can't go wrong! Its a great bike in its stock form, but why in the hell would anyone want to keep their bike stock? Let the modifications begin!
