Why Mr2
I always wanted something rare, something you don’t see on the road everyday. I had my mind set on a car that I seen and loved right away and that was a Toyota Mr2 Turbo which some people call the Mr. 2…lol I did my research on the Mr2 before I bought it, I needed an engine that could take a
beating, and nothing would happen to it. I never wanted to change parts.
What I like the most about the Mr2 is the body, power, mid engine, weights 2800, and you can always here the turbo spooling behind you. Before I did all the modifications, I was surprised to see that a lot of Mr2 owners are converting it to a Ferrari 355 did some research and found out that it would cost a lot of money. So I decided to go with a full bodykit instead and do most of the engine work myself. My brother and I decided to do the engine work ourselves to save some money. We started by swapping the turbo in our garage during a cold winter and later came the intercooler, customized external wastegate, boost controller, etc. We tried to save the most money as possible and at the same time gain some experience. Long story short I never wanted to open up the motor I wanted to keep everything inside stock and change everything else, and if the motor goes one day, then watch out, there’s going to be one crazy ass Mr2 on the road. With the Mr2 you can produce a lot of power with the stock motor, plus if I needed more power I would just take out the Supra…lol. Modification List
